Bangles are bought in sets, matched to an outfit, and replaced often, which makes them one of the clearest cases for buying in India. Shops abroad carry a narrow range at several times the Indian price. Indian sites and markets sell glass, lac, metal and fashion bangles in every colour and size, and a full set weighs very little.

What to check before you order

Indian bangle sizes such as 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8 mean 2 and 4/16, 6/16 and 8/16 of an inch across the inside. Measure a bangle you already own before ordering.
Glass bangles break. Order a spare set for anything that matters, such as a wedding.
Gold-plated and imitation 'one gram gold' bangles are fashion jewellery and ship normally. Real gold bangles cannot be sent by us.
Lac bangles soften in heat; keep them out of a hot car and away from the sun.

Bangles to the USA

Many people in the United States look for bangles from India, gold bangles included. Glass, lac, metal and fashion bangles we forward; real gold we do not, so gold bangles have to travel with someone flying. There is no duty-free allowance for parcels from India: the USD 800 exemption was suspended in August 2025, and since 24 July 2026 Indian goods also carry an extra 10% duty on top of the normal rate. The courier collects it before delivery.

Southall and Leicester sell bangles, but Indian sites have far more colours and sizes at Indian prices, which matters when you are matching a set to an outfit for a wedding or Karva Chauth. For goods up to £135, UK VAT at 20% is normally charged by the seller at checkout; above £135, the courier collects VAT and any duty before delivery. Since 15 July 2026 the UK–India trade agreement has cut or removed duty on many goods made in India where the origin rules are met. VAT still applies.
