Shop Indian stores from Zambia, delivered to your door
Zambia’s Indian community of 25,000 to 30,000 is mostly of Gujarati origin, settled since the early twentieth century and prominent in retail, farming and business, with Lusaka at its centre. Regional Indian clothing, books and festival goods are hard to find locally.

Why one box beats five parcels
International shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and every parcel carries that cost separately. Five 1 kg parcels to Zambia are priced as five shipments; repacked into one 4 kg box — packaging stripped, which is where the fifth kilo goes — they are priced as one. That is the difference between the 1 kg row above multiplied by five and the 5 kg row on its own.
Premium or Economy to Zambia?
Premium is a direct courier with end-to-end tracking and priority customs handling. Economy is consolidated and takes a few days longer for a lower price. Typical transit to Zambia is 4 to 6 business days from dispatch; Economy sits at the longer end of that. Both are tracked. More on choosing Premium or Economy and on how long shipping from India takes.
Shop from India to Zambia — what people actually buy
Zambia runs 230V on British and European sockets, so Indian appliances need a plug adapter. Duty is highest on finished consumer goods, so the boxes worth sending are the ones carrying things genuinely unavailable locally.

- Gujarati and Hindi books
- Pooja items
- Jewellery and gifts
Zambia charges duty of up to 25% on finished goods and 16% VAT. Controlled medicines need ZAMRA approval, and plants and seeds need a phytosanitary certificate.
We deliver door to door across Zambia, including Lusaka, Ndola, Kitwe and Chipata.
Customs and restrictions
Duty 0–5% on raw materials, 15% intermediate, 25% finished goods; medicines and computer parts duty-free. VAT 16% on customs value plus duty. Duties are paid in kwacha before release; the recipient may be asked for a tax identification number (TPIN) at clearance.
Not accepted
- Narcotics and pornography
- Counterfeit goods
- Second-hand underwear

Allowed with conditions

Import duty and local taxes are decided by Zambia customs and collected by the carrier on delivery. They are never part of our shipping quote.

Shipping from India to Zambia — questions
Is there a package forwarding company that gives me an Indian address and ships to Zambia?
Yes. India Rabbit is a package forwarding company that gives you a free Indian address at its warehouse in Kerala, with your own suite code. You shop Indian websites to it, and it combines your parcels into one box and ships them to Zambia, typically 4 to 6 business days after dispatch.
Can I get Indian products delivered to Zambia when the shop only ships within India?
Yes. Order to your India Rabbit address as an ordinary customer in India. We receive the parcel at our warehouse in Kerala, hold it free for 30 days while your other orders arrive, and forward everything to Zambia in one box.
How do I shop from India and ship to Zambia?
Sign up free and you get an Indian delivery address in Kerala with your own suite code. Use it as the shipping address at checkout on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Ajio and most other Indian stores. When your parcels reach us we let you know, and you choose when to have them forwarded to Zambia.
How much does it cost to send a parcel from India to Zambia per kg?
From India to Zambia, a 1 kg parcel starts at ₹9,000 (about ZMW 1,921), and the rate per kilo falls as the box fills: about ₹3,220 (about ZMW 687) per kg for a 5 kg box and ₹3,660 (about ZMW 781) per kg for 20 kg, on Premium, with GST and payment charges included. We charge in rupees; the ZMW figures are approximate, at this week's exchange rate. Forwarding one box to Zambia runs about ₹8,000–10,000 for 1 kg and ₹14,500–17,500 for 5 kg by direct courier. Ranges worked out 2026-11-02, not quotes, and duty at your end is separate. What you pay depends on the finished weight and size after we repack your parcels into one; the table on this page shows indicative totals by parcel weight for Premium and Economy, with our handling, GST and payment charges included. The calculator gives the exact figure for your box.
Can I send a courier from India to Zambia with India Rabbit?
Yes. Order from Indian shops to your India Rabbit address, or have family in India send things there by any domestic courier. We receive and photograph every parcel, combine everything into one box and ship it to Zambia with tracking, typically 4 to 6 business days after dispatch.
What is the cheapest way to ship from India to Zambia?
Order everything to your Indian address first and have it forwarded as one box. International shipping is charged per shipment on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so five parcels sent separately cost far more than the same goods repacked together. Where we run an Economy lane to Zambia, it is cheaper again than direct courier in exchange for a few more days in transit.
How long does delivery to Zambia take?
Typically 4 to 6 business days from the day your consolidated shipment leaves our warehouse, plus customs clearance at your end. Time in storage before you request shipping does not count towards that.
How much can I save by combining parcels?
International shipping is priced on weight and size, so five separate parcels cost far more than one. We repack everything into a single box and strip unnecessary packaging to cut volumetric weight. The saving scales with how bulky the original packaging was — up to 80% on bulky retail boxes, considerably less on small dense items.
Will I pay customs duty in Zambia?
Duty 0–5% on raw materials, 15% intermediate, 25% finished goods; medicines and computer parts duty-free. VAT 16% on customs value plus duty. Duties are paid in kwacha before release; the recipient may be asked for a tax identification number (TPIN) at clearance. Duty is charged by the customs authority in Zambia, not by India Rabbit.
What can I not forward to Zambia?
Prohibited for Zambia: Narcotics and pornography; Counterfeit goods; Second-hand underwear; Explosives and endangered-species products; Cash, currency, cheques, bullion, and loose precious stones; Narcotics, illegal drugs, and psychotropic substances. Check before you order.
How long will you hold my parcels?
30 days free from the day each parcel arrives, which is enough to finish a sale-season order and send it all together. Storage can be extended for a fee if you need longer.
Do I need an Indian card or phone number?
For most stores your own card works fine. Where a store insists on an Indian payment method, message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will tell you what is possible.
