What an Indian virtual address is

"Virtual" only means you do not live there. The address itself is a real place: our warehouse in Kerala, with a suite code that is yours alone, so every parcel that arrives is matched to your account. To an Indian shop it looks like any other customer in India, which is why it works on shops that will not take a foreign address at checkout.

How to get one and use it

1. Sign up free. Your Indian address and suite code appear the moment your account is open.
2. Add it at checkout on any Indian shop, with your name and suite code in the address. There is a step-by-step guide for Flipkart, Myntra and Amazon.in.
3. We receive and photograph each parcel and email you when it arrives, so you can see what came before anything flies.
4. Keep shopping. Every parcel is stored free for 30 days from the day it arrives.
5. Ask us to ship. We repack everything into one box, at no charge, and send it to your door with tracking.

What it costs

The address is free, and so are storage for 30 days, photos, consolidation and repacking. There is no membership and no monthly fee. You pay only for the box you ship, priced on its finished weight, with a Premium and an Economy choice on many routes. The shipping calculator shows the price to your country, and import duty, where it applies, is charged by your own country when the box arrives.

Packing the way you want it

Every shipment is repacked. Tell us to remove shoe boxes, keep product boxes, take out invoices, receipts and price tags, or add extra protection for something fragile. All of it is free, and removing bulky retail packaging is often the biggest saving on the shipping.

Paying Indian shops from abroad

Your own card works on many Indian shops. Some ask for an Indian card or UPI; our guide to paying on Indian shopping sites from abroad sets out the usual options. Cash on delivery cannot be used with your India Rabbit address.

What you can and cannot send

Clothing, sarees, books, skincare, hair oils, snacks, kitchenware and most everyday shopping are fine. We cannot ship perfume, nail polish or aerosols, anything with a built-in battery such as phones and laptops, anything that burns such as agarbatti and candles, or gold, silver and diamond jewellery.
