Shop Indian stores from Nigeria, delivered to your door
Most of Nigeria’s Indian community lives in Lagos, where Indian-owned companies are among the country’s largest employers. Indian groceries can be found in Lagos; clothing, books and many everyday Indian brands cannot.

Why one box beats five parcels
International shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and every parcel carries that cost separately. Five 1 kg parcels to Nigeria are priced as five shipments; repacked into one 4 kg box — packaging stripped, which is where the fifth kilo goes — they are priced as one. That is the difference between the 1 kg row above multiplied by five and the 5 kg row on its own.
Premium or Economy to Nigeria?
Premium is a direct courier with end-to-end tracking and priority customs handling. Economy is consolidated and takes a few days longer for a lower price. Typical transit to Nigeria is 4 to 6 business days from dispatch; Economy sits at the longer end of that. Both are tracked. More on choosing Premium or Economy and on how long shipping from India takes.
Shop from India to Nigeria — what people actually buy
Nigeria runs 230V on British three-pin and round-pin sockets, so Indian appliances often fit with no adapter at all. Check the prohibited list before you buy — it rules out things people would naturally send, including everyday medicines and packaged soap.
- Ethnic and festival clothing
- Indian-language books
- Spices and sealed food that is not on the banned list
- Pooja items
Nigeria charges duty, levies and 7.5% VAT. Retail-packed medicines, packaged soaps, noodles, juice, many footwear lines and meat are on the prohibited list.
We deliver door to door across Nigeria, including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano.
Customs and restrictions
Duty by tariff line (0–35%), a 7% surcharge on duty, a 1% CISS and 0.5% ECOWAS levy, and 7.5% VAT on the total. No duty-free allowance is published. The recipient pays before release.
Not accepted
- Retail-packed medicines including paracetamol, aspirin, metronidazole and chloroquine
- Soaps and detergents in retail packs; mosquito coils
- Spaghetti and noodles; fruit juice in retail packs; tomato paste; sugar; refined vegetable oil
- Pork, beef, poultry and eggs
- Footwear, bags and suitcases (some exceptions); carpets
- Used fridges and air conditioners; second-hand clothing should be treated as banned
Allowed with conditions
- Multivitamins and supplements — restricted, with limited exceptions
- Food, drugs and cosmetics generally — NAFDAC registration or permit
Import duty and local taxes are decided by Nigeria customs and collected by the carrier on delivery. They are never part of our shipping quote.

Shipping from India to Nigeria — questions

Yes. India Rabbit is a package forwarding company that gives you a free Indian address at its warehouse in Kerala, with your own suite code. You shop Indian websites to it, and it combines your parcels into one box and ships them to Nigeria, typically 4 to 6 business days after dispatch.
Can I get Indian products delivered to Nigeria when the shop only ships within India?
Yes. Order to your India Rabbit address as an ordinary customer in India. We receive the parcel at our warehouse in Kerala, hold it free for 30 days while your other orders arrive, and forward everything to Nigeria in one box.
How do I shop from India and ship to Nigeria?
Sign up free and you get an Indian delivery address in Kerala with your own suite code. Use it as the shipping address at checkout on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Ajio and most other Indian stores. When your parcels reach us we let you know, and you choose when to have them forwarded to Nigeria.
How much does it cost to send a parcel from India to Nigeria per kg?
From India to Nigeria, a 1 kg parcel starts at ₹7,950 (about NGN 113,174), and the rate per kilo falls as the box fills: about ₹3,640 (about NGN 51,818) per kg for a 5 kg box and ₹2,230 (about NGN 31,746) per kg for 20 kg, on Premium, with GST and payment charges included. We charge in rupees; the NGN figures are approximate, at this week's exchange rate. Forwarding one box to Nigeria runs about ₹7,000–9,000 for 1 kg and ₹16,500–20,000 for 5 kg by direct courier. Ranges worked out 2026-10-31, not quotes, and duty at your end is separate. What you pay depends on the finished weight and size after we repack your parcels into one; the table on this page shows indicative totals by parcel weight for Premium and Economy, with our handling, GST and payment charges included. The calculator gives the exact figure for your box.
Can I send a courier from India to Nigeria with India Rabbit?
Yes. Order from Indian shops to your India Rabbit address, or have family in India send things there by any domestic courier. We receive and photograph every parcel, combine everything into one box and ship it to Nigeria with tracking, typically 4 to 6 business days after dispatch.
What is the cheapest way to ship from India to Nigeria?
Order everything to your Indian address first and have it forwarded as one box. International shipping is charged per shipment on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so five parcels sent separately cost far more than the same goods repacked together. Where we run an Economy lane to Nigeria, it is cheaper again than direct courier in exchange for a few more days in transit.
How long does delivery to Nigeria take?
Typically 4 to 6 business days from the day your consolidated shipment leaves our warehouse, plus customs clearance at your end. Time in storage before you request shipping does not count towards that.
How much can I save by combining parcels?
International shipping is priced on weight and size, so five separate parcels cost far more than one. We repack everything into a single box and strip unnecessary packaging to cut volumetric weight. The saving scales with how bulky the original packaging was — up to 80% on bulky retail boxes, considerably less on small dense items.
Will I pay customs duty in Nigeria?
Duty by tariff line (0–35%), a 7% surcharge on duty, a 1% CISS and 0.5% ECOWAS levy, and 7.5% VAT on the total. No duty-free allowance is published. The recipient pays before release. Duty is charged by the customs authority in Nigeria, not by India Rabbit.
What can I not forward to Nigeria?
Prohibited for Nigeria: Retail-packed medicines including paracetamol, aspirin, metronidazole and chloroquine; Soaps and detergents in retail packs; mosquito coils; Spaghetti and noodles; fruit juice in retail packs; tomato paste; sugar; refined vegetable oil; Pork, beef, poultry and eggs; Footwear, bags and suitcases (some exceptions); carpets; Used fridges and air conditioners; second-hand clothing should be treated as banned. Check before you order.
How long will you hold my parcels?
30 days free from the day each parcel arrives, which is enough to finish a sale-season order and send it all together. Storage can be extended for a fee if you need longer.
Do I need an Indian card or phone number?
For most stores your own card works fine. Where a store insists on an Indian payment method, message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will tell you what is possible.
