Terms and Conditions
Last updated September 2026. These terms cover India Rabbit's package forwarding service, operated by The Courier Point from Pala, Kerala.
These terms apply when you use India Rabbit's website, branch, pickup, courier, cargo, freight, documentation, tracking, quotation, and support services. By using our services, you accept these terms, our privacy policy, shipping policy, and cancellation and refund policy.
Our Role as Agent
India Rabbit arranges courier and cargo services through third-party shipping partners. We may collect shipments, check basic documentation, prepare booking details, accept payment, generate tracking references, and hand over shipments to courier, freight, airline, customs, or delivery partners. We are not the final carrier for every shipment and do not control every transit, customs, security, airline, destination delivery, or partner-network event.
Customer Responsibilities
- Provide complete and accurate sender, receiver, contact, address, invoice, KYC, tax, and customs information.
- Declare the true shipment contents, quantity, value, weight, and purpose.
- Pack items safely and suitably for courier, road, air, sea, handling, inspection, and multi-point transport.
- Ensure the shipment does not contain prohibited, restricted, illegal, hazardous, undeclared, or misdeclared goods.
- Pay applicable charges, duties, taxes, storage, return, reattempt, remote-area, customs, penalty, and partner fees.
Storage, Storage Limits, and Unclaimed Parcels
Every parcel we receive is stored free for 30 days from the day it arrives at our warehouse. Storage can be extended from your account 2 times, by 30 days each time, for a fee that is added to your shipping bill.
No parcel may be stored with us for longer than 90 days from the date it arrives. That is the free window plus every extension available, and it is a hard limit — we cannot hold a parcel beyond it, whatever its value.
We will tell you before the deadline. You will receive an email when 7 days of storage remain on a parcel, and again on the day its storage expires. Your parcel list shows the remaining days at all times. It is your responsibility to keep a working email address on your account and to act on those notices.
If a parcel reaches its 90-day limit and you have not raised a shipping request, we will hold it for a further 14 days. After that period the parcel is treated as abandoned, and we may donate, recycle, or destroy it at our discretion. No refund, credit, or compensation is payable for the value of the goods, and any charges already incurred remain due.
You can prevent this at any point by raising a shipping request, or by contacting us before the deadline to arrange a return within India at your cost. We would much rather do either than dispose of something you paid for, so please talk to us if you are stuck.
Prohibited and Restricted Shipments
We may refuse, hold, return, or cancel shipments containing prohibited or restricted items, including items barred by Indian law, destination-country law, airline rules, customs rules, partner policies, or safety regulations. Common examples include currency, narcotics, weapons, explosives, hazardous goods, counterfeit goods, live animals, perishable items without approved handling, valuable documents or articles without prior approval, and any item requiring special permission that has not been disclosed and accepted.
Rates, Transit Time, and Service Availability
Quotes, delivery estimates, pickup availability, and service options depend on origin, destination, partner network, shipment type, weight, dimensions, customs, weather, public holidays, route conditions, security checks, and operational constraints. Transit times are estimates unless a specific partner-backed guarantee is confirmed in writing.
Inspection and Compliance
Shipments may be opened, scanned, inspected, delayed, detained, returned, abandoned, or disposed of by India Rabbit, shipping partners, customs, security agencies, or government authorities where required by law, safety, partner rules, unpaid charges, or suspected misdeclaration.
Liability
India Rabbit's role is to arrange pickup, booking, documentation support, and handover to the selected shipping partner. Once a shipment is accepted or moved within a partner network, transit custody, handling, scans, routing, and delivery are governed by that partner's terms and operational process. Our responsibility is limited to the service fee paid to India Rabbit for the affected shipment, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Carrier liability, compensation, declared-value cover, insurance, and claim windows are subject to the selected partner's terms. We are not liable for indirect loss, business loss, missed deadlines, customs decisions, confiscation, natural events, force majeure, customer misdeclaration, poor packing, prohibited goods, receiver unavailability, or partner network events outside our reasonable control.
Claims and Disputes
Damage, loss, short-delivery, non-delivery, delay, and refund claims must be raised promptly with shipment number, invoice, packing evidence, item details, photos, and any partner-required documents. India Rabbit will assist with claim coordination where possible, but claims connected to partner transit custody, handling, scans, routing, delivery, loss, or damage are reviewed and decided under the selected partner's rules, investigation process, compensation limits, exclusions, and applicable law.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer rights and mandatory legal forums, disputes will be handled through the competent courts or authorities in Kerala, India.
