More than twenty thousand Indian students — over half of all foreign students in the country — study in Georgia, most of them medicine in Tbilisi. They need what students abroad always need from home: food, clothing for festivals and the occasional textbook.

Why one box beats five parcels
International shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and every parcel carries that cost separately. Five 1 kg parcels to Georgia are priced as five shipments; repacked into one 4 kg box — packaging stripped, which is where the fifth kilo goes — they are priced as one. That is the difference between the 1 kg row above multiplied by five and the 5 kg row on its own.
Premium or Economy to Georgia?
Premium is a direct courier with end-to-end tracking and priority customs handling. Economy is consolidated and takes a few days longer for a lower price. Typical transit to Georgia is 4 to 6 business days from dispatch; Economy sits at the longer end of that. Both are tracked. More on choosing Premium or Economy and on how long shipping from India takes.
Shop from India to Georgia — what people actually buy
Georgia runs 220V on the European socket, so Indian appliances need a plug adapter. Keeping a non-food parcel under GEL 300 keeps it duty-free; food is taxed whatever its value.
- Festival clothing
- Medical textbooks and study material
- Spices and packaged snacks
- Personal-care products
Personal parcels up to GEL 300 and 30 kg are duty-free, but food is excluded from the exemption. Controlled medicines such as codeine and tramadol need medical documents.
We deliver door to door across Georgia, including Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi.
Customs and restrictions
Personal, non-commercial parcels are exempt from duty and VAT up to GEL 300 and 30 kg; food and e-liquid are excluded. VAT is 18%. Goods bought online must be declared. The recipient pays any charges before release.
Not accepted
- Narcotics and psychotropics
- Codeine-, ephedrine- or buprenorphine-type preparations without medical documents (examples: tramadol, pregabalin, alprazolam)
- E-cigarette liquid is excluded from the duty-free exemption
Allowed with conditions
- Medicines — up to 10 standard packs without documents; controlled substances up to a 31-day supply with a translated, approved prescription
- Food — always taxable, whatever the value
Import duty and local taxes are decided by Georgia customs and collected by the carrier on delivery. They are never part of our shipping quote.

Shipping from India to Georgia — questions
Is there a package forwarding company that gives me an Indian address and ships to Georgia?
Yes. India Rabbit is a package forwarding company that gives you a free Indian address at its warehouse in Kerala, with your own suite code. You shop Indian websites to it, and it combines your parcels into one box and ships them to Georgia, typically 4 to 6 business days after dispatch.
Can I get Indian products delivered to Georgia when the shop only ships within India?
Yes. Order to your India Rabbit address as an ordinary customer in India. We receive the parcel at our warehouse in Kerala, hold it free for 30 days while your other orders arrive, and forward everything to Georgia in one box.
How do I shop from India and ship to Georgia?
Sign up free and you get an Indian delivery address in Kerala with your own suite code. Use it as the shipping address at checkout on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Ajio and most other Indian stores. When your parcels reach us we let you know, and you choose when to have them forwarded to Georgia.
How much does it cost to send a parcel from India to Georgia per kg?
From India to Georgia, a 1 kg parcel starts at ₹9,000 (about GEL 246), and the rate per kilo falls as the box fills: about ₹3,220 (about GEL 88) per kg for a 5 kg box and ₹3,660 (about GEL 100) per kg for 20 kg, on Premium, with GST and payment charges included. We charge in rupees; the GEL figures are approximate, at this week's exchange rate. Forwarding one box to Georgia runs about ₹8,000–10,000 for 1 kg and ₹14,500–17,500 for 5 kg by direct courier. Ranges worked out 2026-10-31, not quotes, and duty at your end is separate. What you pay depends on the finished weight and size after we repack your parcels into one; the table on this page shows indicative totals by parcel weight for Premium and Economy, with our handling, GST and payment charges included. The calculator gives the exact figure for your box.
Can I send a courier from India to Georgia with India Rabbit?
Yes. Order from Indian shops to your India Rabbit address, or have family in India send things there by any domestic courier. We receive and photograph every parcel, combine everything into one box and ship it to Georgia with tracking, typically 4 to 6 business days after dispatch.
What is the cheapest way to ship from India to Georgia?
Order everything to your Indian address first and have it forwarded as one box. International shipping is charged per shipment on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so five parcels sent separately cost far more than the same goods repacked together. Where we run an Economy lane to Georgia, it is cheaper again than direct courier in exchange for a few more days in transit.
How long does delivery to Georgia take?
Typically 4 to 6 business days from the day your consolidated shipment leaves our warehouse, plus customs clearance at your end. Time in storage before you request shipping does not count towards that.
How much can I save by combining parcels?
International shipping is priced on weight and size, so five separate parcels cost far more than one. We repack everything into a single box and strip unnecessary packaging to cut volumetric weight. The saving scales with how bulky the original packaging was — up to 80% on bulky retail boxes, considerably less on small dense items.
Will I pay customs duty in Georgia?
Personal, non-commercial parcels are exempt from duty and VAT up to GEL 300 and 30 kg; food and e-liquid are excluded. VAT is 18%. Goods bought online must be declared. The recipient pays any charges before release. Duty is charged by the customs authority in Georgia, not by India Rabbit.
What can I not forward to Georgia?
Prohibited for Georgia: Narcotics and psychotropics; Codeine-, ephedrine- or buprenorphine-type preparations without medical documents (examples: tramadol, pregabalin, alprazolam); E-cigarette liquid is excluded from the duty-free exemption; Cash, currency, cheques, bullion, and loose precious stones; Narcotics, illegal drugs, and psychotropic substances; Firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, and weapons (including replicas). Check before you order.
How long will you hold my parcels?
30 days free from the day each parcel arrives, which is enough to finish a sale-season order and send it all together. Storage can be extended for a fee if you need longer.
Do I need an Indian card or phone number?
For most stores your own card works fine. Where a store insists on an Indian payment method, message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will tell you what is possible.
