Shop Indian stores from Mauritius, delivered to your door

About two-thirds of Mauritians are of Indian origin, descended mostly from nineteenth-century indentured workers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, with Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Gujarati communities alongside. Indian festivals are part of public life, and demand for Indian clothing, books and religious goods is mainstream.

Why one box beats five parcels

International shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and every parcel carries that cost separately. Five 1 kg parcels to Mauritius are priced as five shipments; repacked into one 4 kg box — packaging stripped, which is where the fifth kilo goes — they are priced as one. That is the difference between the 1 kg row above multiplied by five and the 5 kg row on its own.

Premium or Economy to Mauritius?

Premium is a direct courier with end-to-end tracking and priority customs handling. Economy is consolidated and takes a few days longer for a lower price. Typical transit to Mauritius is 4 to 6 business days from dispatch; Economy sits at the longer end of that. Both are tracked. Shop from India to Mauritius — what people actually buy

Mauritius runs 230V on both European and British sockets, so Indian appliances need a plug adapter. Several parcels arriving for the same person on the same flight are treated as one consignment, so splitting an order does not stretch the gift allowance.

  • Jewellery

Mauritius charges duty and 15% VAT; genuine gifts get a Rs 1,000 allowance, and a Rs 150 processing fee applies to every personal courier parcel. Food and medicines need clearance, and e-cigarettes are prohibited.

We deliver door to door across Mauritius, including Port Louis, Vacoas-Phoenix, Beau Bassin-Rose Hill and Quatre Bornes.

Customs and restrictions

Duty and 15% VAT are calculated on CIF value; a MACCS fee of about Rs 57.50 and, since 1 September 2026, a non-refundable Rs 150 MRA processing fee apply per consignment. Genuine unsolicited gifts and personal items: duty and VAT charged only on value above Rs 1,000. Several parcels on the same flight for the same person count as one consignment. The recipient provides their NIC or passport number and pays before release; items needing a permit are held until it is issued.

Not accepted

  • E-cigarettes, e-liquids and vaping accessories
  • Toy pistols and guns that fire projectiles
  • Cosmetics containing vitamin K1 (phytonadione)
  • Roll-your-own cigarette papers

Shipping from India to Mauritius — questions

Is there a package forwarding company that gives me an Indian address and ships to Mauritius?

Yes. India Rabbit is a package forwarding company that gives you a free Indian address at its warehouse in Kerala, with your own suite code. You shop Indian websites to it, and it combines your parcels into one box and ships them to Mauritius, typically 4 to 6 business days after dispatch.

Can I get Indian products delivered to Mauritius when the shop only ships within India?

Yes. Order to your India Rabbit address as an ordinary customer in India. We receive the parcel at our warehouse in Kerala, hold it free for 30 days while your other orders arrive, and forward everything to Mauritius in one box.

How do I shop from India and ship to Mauritius?

Sign up free and you get an Indian delivery address in Kerala with your own suite code. Use it as the shipping address at checkout on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Ajio and most other Indian stores. When your parcels reach us we let you know, and you choose when to have them forwarded to Mauritius.

How much does it cost to send a parcel from India to Mauritius per kg?

From India to Mauritius, a 1 kg parcel starts at ₹7,950 (about MUR 4,023), and the rate per kilo falls as the box fills: about ₹3,640 (about MUR 1,842) per kg for a 5 kg box and ₹2,230 (about MUR 1,128) per kg for 20 kg, on Premium, with GST and payment charges included. The calculator gives the exact figure for your box.

Can I send a courier from India to Mauritius with India Rabbit?

Yes. Order from Indian shops to your India Rabbit address, or have family in India send things there by any domestic courier. We receive and photograph every parcel, combine everything into one box and ship it to Mauritius with tracking, typically 4 to 6 business days after dispatch.

What is the cheapest way to ship from India to Mauritius?

Order everything to your Indian address first and have it forwarded as one box. International shipping is charged per shipment on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so five parcels sent separately cost far more than the same goods repacked together. Where we run an Economy lane to Mauritius, it is cheaper again than direct courier in exchange for a few more days in transit.

How long does delivery to Mauritius take?

Typically 4 to 6 business days from the day your consolidated shipment leaves our warehouse, plus customs clearance at your end. Time in storage before you request shipping does not count towards that.

How much can I save by combining parcels?

International shipping is priced on weight and size, so five separate parcels cost far more than one. We repack everything into a single box and strip unnecessary packaging to cut volumetric weight. The saving scales with how bulky the original packaging was — up to 80% on bulky retail boxes, considerably less on small dense items.

Will I pay customs duty in Mauritius?

Duty and 15% VAT are calculated on CIF value; a MACCS fee of about Rs 57.50 and, since 1 September 2026, a non-refundable Rs 150 MRA processing fee apply per consignment. Genuine unsolicited gifts and personal items: duty and VAT charged only on value above Rs 1,000. Several parcels on the same flight for the same person count as one consignment. The recipient provides their NIC or passport number and pays before release; items needing a permit are held until it is issued. Duty is charged by the customs authority in Mauritius, not by India Rabbit.

What can I not forward to Mauritius?

Prohibited for Mauritius: E-cigarettes, e-liquids and vaping accessories; Toy pistols and guns that fire projectiles; Cosmetics containing vitamin K1 (phytonadione); Roll-your-own cigarette papers; Counterfeit goods and endangered-animal products; Cash, currency, cheques, bullion, and loose precious stones. Check before you order.

How long will you hold my parcels?

30 days free from the day each parcel arrives, which is enough to finish a sale-season order and send it all together. Storage can be extended for a fee if you need longer.

Do I need an Indian card or phone number?

For most stores your own card works fine. Where a store insists on an Indian payment method, message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will tell you what is possible.
