Shop Indian stores from Germany, delivered to your door
Germany has a large and fast-growing Indian population, weighted towards engineers, doctors, nurses and students in the southern cities. Indian retail is thinner on the ground than the numbers suggest, and almost nothing on an Indian website will post here, so an Indian address of your own is the route to it.
Yes — you can shop Indian websites from Germany even when they will not deliver there. India Rabbit is a package forwarding company that gives you a free Indian delivery address in Kerala. Order to it from Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra or any Indian shop, and we receive each parcel, hold it free for 30 days, combine everything into one box and forward it to Germany — typically 4 to 12 business days from dispatch. You pay for the international shipment only. From India to Germany, a 1 kg parcel starts at ₹2,000 (about EUR 18.9), and the rate per kilo falls as the box fills: about ₹1,160 (about EUR 10.9) per kg for a 5 kg box and ₹910 (about EUR 8.6) per kg for 20 kg, on Economy, with GST and payment charges included. We charge in rupees; the EUR figures are approximate, at this week's exchange rate. Forwarding one box to Germany runs about ₹4,000–5,000 for 1 kg and ₹10,000–12,500 for 5 kg by direct courier, or ₹1,500–2,500 and ₹5,000–6,500 where we run an Economy lane. Ranges worked out 2026-10-31, not quotes. Economy is delivered duty paid; on Premium, duty at your end is separate.

What it costs to ship from India to Germany
For a figure you can act on, price your actual box — weight and destination in, exact cost out. The bands below are the shape of it if you only want a ballpark first.

Indicative totals for a parcel forwarded from our Kerala warehouse to Germany, including our handling, GST and payment charges — not a carrier rate with extras added later. Economy to Germany is delivered duty paid, so import duty is in the price; on Premium, duty and any import tax charged on arrival is separate, and is set by Germany customs rather than by us.

Why one box beats five parcels
International shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and every parcel carries that cost separately. Five 1 kg parcels to Germany are priced as five shipments; repacked into one 4 kg box — packaging stripped, which is where the fifth kilo goes — they are priced as one. That is the difference between the 1 kg row above multiplied by five and the 5 kg row on its own.
Premium or Economy to Germany?
Premium is a direct courier with end-to-end tracking and priority customs handling. Economy is consolidated and takes a few days longer for a lower price. Typical transit to Germany is 4 to 12 business days from dispatch; Economy sits at the longer end of that. Both are tracked. More on choosing Premium or Economy and on how long shipping from India takes.
Shop from India to Germany — what people actually buy
Germany runs 230V on the standard two-pin European socket, so Indian appliances work on a plug adapter with no transformer. The Indian population here is spread across the nursing towns and the Punjabi and Gujarati clusters in the Ruhr and around Frankfurt, and outside the big cities there is often no Indian shop at all. German clothing sizes run generously against Indian ones, so read the centimetre measurements rather than the S-M-L label.
- Clothing and wedding shopping at Indian prices
- Spices, pickles and packaged food
- Indian-language and children's books
- Ayurvedic and herbal products, within German import rules
German import VAT is charged on almost everything, and the EU ban on meat and dairy from outside the EU is enforced strictly. Declare food precisely.
We deliver door to door across Germany, including Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Stuttgart.
Customs and restrictions
Import VAT (19%) applies to almost all goods; since 1 July 2026 parcels up to €150 pay a €3 customs duty per item category, and normal duty applies above €150. The recipient usually pays VAT/duty before delivery.
Not accepted
- Meat, milk, and dairy products from outside the EU
- Protected plants and seeds without a phytosanitary certificate
- Counterfeit goods and endangered species products
- Weapons and certain knives
Allowed with conditions
- Medicines — personal quantity with a prescription
- Commercially packaged food (no meat/dairy) — declare
- Supplements and cosmetics — declare
Import duty and local taxes are decided by Germany customs and collected by the carrier on delivery. They are never part of our shipping quote.
Selling from India rather than buying? Shipping orders to Germany for Indian sellers covers this lane from the other side — transit, what Germany will not admit, and how duty falls.

Can I get Indian products delivered to Germany when the shop only ships within India?
Yes. Order to your India Rabbit address as an ordinary customer in India. We receive the parcel at our warehouse in Kerala, hold it free for 30 days while your other orders arrive, and forward everything to Germany in one box.
How do I shop from India and ship to Germany?

When your parcels reach us we let you know, and you choose when to have them forwarded to Germany.
How much does it cost to send a parcel from India to Germany per kg?
What you pay depends on the finished weight and size after we repack your parcels into one; the table on this page shows indicative totals by parcel weight for Premium and Economy, with our handling, GST and payment charges included. The calculator gives the exact figure for your box.
Can I send a courier from India to Germany with India Rabbit?
Yes. Order from Indian shops to your India Rabbit address, or have family in India send things there by any domestic courier. We receive and photograph every parcel, combine everything into one box and ship it to Germany with tracking, typically 4 to 12 business days after dispatch.
What is the cheapest way to ship from India to Germany?
Order everything to your Indian address first and have it forwarded as one box. International shipping is charged per shipment on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so five parcels sent separately cost far more than the same goods repacked together. Where we run an Economy lane to Germany, it is cheaper again than direct courier in exchange for a few more days in transit.
How long does delivery to Germany take?
Typically 4 to 12 business days from the day your consolidated shipment leaves our warehouse, plus customs clearance at your end. Time in storage before you request shipping does not count towards that.
How much can I save by combining parcels?
International shipping is priced on weight and size, so five separate parcels cost far more than one. We repack everything into a single box and strip unnecessary packaging to cut volumetric weight. The saving scales with how bulky the original packaging was — up to 80% on bulky retail boxes, considerably less on small dense items.
Will I pay customs duty in Germany?
Import VAT (19%) applies to almost all goods; since 1 July 2026 parcels up to €150 pay a €3 customs duty per item category, and normal duty applies above €150. The recipient usually pays VAT/duty before delivery. Duty is charged by the customs authority in Germany, not by India Rabbit.
What can I not forward to Germany?
Prohibited for Germany: Meat, milk, and dairy products from outside the EU; Protected plants and seeds without a phytosanitary certificate; Counterfeit goods and endangered species products; Weapons and certain knives; Cash, currency, cheques, bullion, and loose precious stones; Narcotics, illegal drugs, and psychotropic substances. Check before you order.
How long will you hold my parcels?
30 days free from the day each parcel arrives, which is enough to finish a sale-season order and send it all together. Storage can be extended for a fee if you need longer.
Do I need an Indian card or phone number?
For most stores your own card works fine. Where a store insists on an Indian payment method, message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will tell you what is possible.
