Shop Indian stores from Belgium, delivered to your door

Antwerp holds one of the oldest and most settled Indian communities in Europe, built around the diamond trade, alongside a newer professional population in Brussels and Leuven. Both order from India regularly and neither is well served by local retail.

Indicative totals for a parcel forwarded from our Kerala warehouse to Belgium, including our handling, GST and payment charges — not a carrier rate with extras added later. Economy to Belgium is delivered duty paid, so import duty is in the price; on Premium, duty and any import tax charged on arrival is separate, and is set by Belgium customs rather than by us.

Why one box beats five parcels

International shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and every parcel carries that cost separately. Five 1 kg parcels to Belgium are priced as five shipments; repacked into one 4 kg box — packaging stripped, which is where the fifth kilo goes — they are priced as one. That is the difference between the 1 kg row above multiplied by five and the 5 kg row on its own.

Premium or Economy to Belgium?

Premium is a direct courier with end-to-end tracking and priority customs handling. Economy is consolidated and takes a few days longer for a lower price. Typical transit to Belgium is 4 to 12 business days from dispatch; Economy sits at the longer end of that. Both are tracked. More on choosing Premium or Economy and on how long shipping from India takes.

Shop from India to Belgium — what people actually buy

Belgium runs 230V on the standard European socket, so Indian electricals work on an adapter. Antwerp's Indian community is largely tied to the diamond trade and Brussels's to the institutions, and neither is served by much Indian retail beyond a handful of grocers. Pooja and religious items are a bigger share of the boxes here than almost anywhere in Europe, and they are also the things with no local source at any price.

  • Wedding and festival clothing
  • Spices and packaged food, no meat or dairy
  • Pooja and religious items
  • Indian-language books

EU rules apply — the meat and dairy ban and import VAT on nearly everything. Note that loose stones, bullion and coins are refused by air couriers to every destination, including this one; finished jewellery travels as a declared valuable.

We deliver door to door across Belgium, including Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent and Leuven.

Customs and restrictions

Import VAT (21%) applies; since 1 July 2026 parcels up to €150 pay a €3 customs duty per item category, and normal duty applies above €150. The recipient may need to pay VAT/duty before delivery.

Not accepted

  • Meat, milk, and dairy products from outside the EU
  • Protected plants and seeds without certificates
  • Counterfeit goods and endangered species products
  • Weapons and certain knives

Allowed with conditions

  • Medicines — personal quantity with a prescription
  • Commercially packaged food (no meat/dairy) — declare
  • Supplements and cosmetics — declare

Shipping from India to Belgium — questions

Is there a package forwarding company that gives me an Indian address and ships to Belgium?

Yes. India Rabbit is a package forwarding company that gives you a free Indian address at its warehouse in Kerala, with your own suite code. You shop Indian websites to it, and it combines your parcels into one box and ships them to Belgium, typically 4 to 12 business days after dispatch.

Can I get Indian products delivered to Belgium when the shop only ships within India?

Yes. Order to your India Rabbit address as an ordinary customer in India. We receive the parcel at our warehouse in Kerala, hold it free for 30 days while your other orders arrive, and forward everything to Belgium in one box.

How do I shop from India and ship to Belgium?

Sign up free and you get an Indian delivery address in Kerala with your own suite code. Use it as the shipping address at checkout on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Ajio and most other Indian stores. When your parcels reach us we let you know, and you choose when to have them forwarded to Belgium.

How much does it cost to send a parcel from India to Belgium per kg?

From India to Belgium, a 1 kg parcel starts at ₹2,800 (about EUR 26), and the rate per kilo falls as the box fills: about ₹1,320 (about EUR 12.4) per kg for a 5 kg box and ₹950 (about EUR 9.0) per kg for 20 kg, on Economy, with GST and payment charges included. What you pay depends on the finished weight and size after we repack your parcels into one; the table on this page shows indicative totals by parcel weight for Premium and Economy, with our handling, GST and payment charges included. The calculator gives the exact figure for your box.

Can I send a courier from India to Belgium with India Rabbit?

Yes. Order from Indian shops to your India Rabbit address, or have family in India send things there by any domestic courier. We receive and photograph every parcel, combine everything into one box and ship it to Belgium with tracking, typically 4 to 12 business days after dispatch.

What is the cheapest way to ship from India to Belgium?

Order everything to your Indian address first and have it forwarded as one box. International shipping is charged per shipment on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so five parcels sent separately cost far more than the same goods repacked together. Where we run an Economy lane to Belgium, it is cheaper again than direct courier in exchange for a few more days in transit.

How long does delivery to Belgium take?

Typically 4 to 12 business days from the day your consolidated shipment leaves our warehouse, plus customs clearance at your end. Time in storage before you request shipping does not count towards that.

How much can I save by combining parcels?

International shipping is priced on weight and size, so five separate parcels cost far more than one. We repack everything into a single box and strip unnecessary packaging to cut volumetric weight. The saving scales with how bulky the original packaging was — up to 80% on bulky retail boxes, considerably less on small dense items.

Will I pay customs duty in Belgium?

Import VAT (21%) applies; since 1 July 2026 parcels up to €150 pay a €3 customs duty per item category, and normal duty applies above €150. The recipient may need to pay VAT/duty before delivery. Duty is charged by the customs authority in Belgium, not by India Rabbit.

What can I not forward to Belgium?

Prohibited for Belgium: Meat, milk, and dairy products from outside the EU; Protected plants and seeds without certificates; Counterfeit goods and endangered species products; Weapons and certain knives; Cash, currency, cheques, bullion, and loose precious stones; Narcotics, illegal drugs, and psychotropic substances. Check before you order.

How long will you hold my parcels?

30 days free from the day each parcel arrives, which is enough to finish a sale-season order and send it all together. Storage can be extended for a fee if you need longer.

Do I need an Indian card or phone number?

For most stores your own card works fine. Where a store insists on an Indian payment method, message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will tell you what is possible.
