Shop Indian stores from France, delivered to your door

France’s Indian community — around a hundred thousand people — is centred on Paris, with deep historical roots in the former French territories of Puducherry and Chandernagore and a newer wave of students and professionals. Indian groceries are easy to find in Paris; clothing, books and regional products are not.

Indicative totals for a parcel forwarded from our Kerala warehouse to France, including our handling, GST and payment charges — not a carrier rate with extras added later. Economy to France is delivered duty paid, so import duty is in the price; on Premium, duty and any import tax charged on arrival is separate, and is set by France customs rather than by us.

Why one box beats five parcels

International shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and every parcel carries that cost separately. Five 1 kg parcels to France are priced as five shipments; repacked into one 4 kg box — packaging stripped, which is where the fifth kilo goes — they are priced as one. That is the difference between the 1 kg row above multiplied by five and the 5 kg row on its own.

Premium or Economy to France?

Premium is a direct courier with end-to-end tracking and priority customs handling. Economy is consolidated and takes a few days longer for a lower price. Typical transit to France is 4 to 12 business days from dispatch; Economy sits at the longer end of that. Both are tracked. More on choosing Premium or Economy and on how long shipping from India takes.

Shop from India to France — what people actually buy

France runs 230V on the standard European socket, so Indian appliances work with a plug adapter. Outside Paris there is very little Indian retail, which makes this a lane for broad, consolidated orders — clothing, books and dry food together — rather than single items.

  • Wedding and festival clothing
  • Tamil, Malayalam and other Indian-language books
  • Spices and packaged food, no meat or dairy
  • Jewellery and gifts

EU rules apply: 20% import VAT on almost all goods, a €3 duty per item category on parcels up to €150 since July 2026, and a ban on meat and dairy from outside the EU.

We deliver door to door across France, including Paris, Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse.

Customs and restrictions

Import VAT (20%) applies to almost all goods. Since 1 July 2026 parcels up to €150 pay a €3 duty per item category; above €150 normal tariff rates apply. Genuine gifts between private individuals up to €45 are free of duty and VAT. From 1 November 2026 a €2 EU handling fee applies to business-to-consumer parcels, not to gifts between individuals. The recipient usually pays charges before delivery.

Not accepted

  • Meat, milk and dairy products from outside the EU (infant milk under 2 kg and honey under 2 kg excepted)
  • Tobacco bought online or by mail — systematically seized
  • Protected plants and seeds without a phytosanitary certificate
  • Counterfeit goods and endangered species products
  • Weapons and certain knives

Allowed with conditions

  • Medicines — personal quantity with a prescription; narcotics and psychotropics need a prescription
  • Commercially packaged food (no meat or dairy) — declare
  • Supplements and cosmetics — declare
  • Perfume — gift parcels limited to 5 cl of perfume or 25 cl of eau de toilette
  • Wine and spirits — heavily dutiable, usually not accepted by courier

Import duty and local taxes are decided by France customs and collected by the carrier on delivery. They are never part of our shipping quote.

Shipping from India to France — questions

Is there a package forwarding company that gives me an Indian address and ships to France?

Yes. India Rabbit is a package forwarding company that gives you a free Indian address at its warehouse in Kerala, with your own suite code. You shop Indian websites to it, and it combines your parcels into one box and ships them to France, typically 4 to 12 business days after dispatch.

Can I get Indian products delivered to France when the shop only ships within India?

Yes. Order to your India Rabbit address as an ordinary customer in India. We receive the parcel at our warehouse in Kerala, hold it free for 30 days while your other orders arrive, and forward everything to France in one box.

How do I shop from India and ship to France?

Sign up free and you get an Indian delivery address in Kerala with your own suite code. Use it as the shipping address at checkout on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Ajio and most other Indian stores. When your parcels reach us we let you know, and you choose when to have them forwarded to France.

How much does it cost to send a parcel from India to France per kg?

From India to France, a 1 kg parcel starts at ₹2,800 (about EUR 26), and the rate per kilo falls as the box fills: about ₹1,320 (about EUR 12.4) per kg for a 5 kg box and ₹950 (about EUR 9.0) per kg for 20 kg, on Economy, with GST and payment charges included. Ranges worked out 2026-11-02, not quotes. Economy is delivered duty paid; on Premium, duty at your end is separate. What you pay depends on the finished weight and size after we repack your parcels into one; the table on this page shows indicative totals by parcel weight for Premium and Economy, with our handling, GST and payment charges included. The calculator gives the exact figure for your box.

Can I send a courier from India to France with India Rabbit?

Yes. Order from Indian shops to your India Rabbit address, or have family in India send things there by any domestic courier. We receive and photograph every parcel, combine everything into one box and ship it to France with tracking, typically 4 to 12 business days after dispatch.

What is the cheapest way to ship from India to France?

Order everything to your Indian address first and have it forwarded as one box. International shipping is charged per shipment on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so five parcels sent separately cost far more than the same goods repacked together. Where we run an Economy lane to France, it is cheaper again than direct courier in exchange for a few more days in transit.

How long does delivery to France take?

Typically 4 to 12 business days from the day your consolidated shipment leaves our warehouse, plus customs clearance at your end. Time in storage before you request shipping does not count towards that.

How much can I save by combining parcels?

International shipping is priced on weight and size, so five separate parcels cost far more than one. We repack everything into a single box and strip unnecessary packaging to cut volumetric weight. The saving scales with how bulky the original packaging was — up to 80% on bulky retail boxes, considerably less on small dense items.

Will I pay customs duty in France?

Import VAT (20%) applies to almost all goods. Since 1 July 2026 parcels up to €150 pay a €3 duty per item category; above €150 normal tariff rates apply. Genuine gifts between private individuals up to €45 are free of duty and VAT. From 1 November 2026 a €2 EU handling fee applies to business-to-consumer parcels, not to gifts between individuals. The recipient usually pays charges before delivery. Duty is charged by the customs authority in France, not by India Rabbit.

What can I not forward to France?

Prohibited for France: Meat, milk and dairy products from outside the EU (infant milk under 2 kg and honey under 2 kg excepted); Tobacco bought online or by mail — systematically seized; Protected plants and seeds without a phytosanitary certificate; Counterfeit goods and endangered species products; Weapons and certain knives; Cash, currency, cheques, bullion, and loose precious stones. Check before you order.

How long will you hold my parcels?

30 days free from the day each parcel arrives, which is enough to finish a sale-season order and send it all together. Storage can be extended for a fee if you need longer.

Do I need an Indian card or phone number?

For most stores your own card works fine. Where a store insists on an Indian payment method, message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will tell you what is possible.
