Kalyan Silks describes itself as the world's largest silk saree showroom network and dates its beginning to 1909. Its online store is built around sarees: pure silk, semi silk, cotton, Chanderi, linen, organza, tissue, tussar, chiffon, ready-to-wear and Kerala sarees, a bridal section with Kanjivaram, Banarasi and brocade, and its own signature ranges, including Raj Gharana and designer sarees.

Ordering from abroad

1. Sign up for a free India Rabbit address. It is our warehouse in Kerala with your own suite code.
2. Order on kalyansilks.com with that address as the delivery address. Pay online by card or UPI; cash on delivery cannot be accepted at our warehouse.
3. We receive the parcel, open it and photograph the saree, so you can check the colour and the border before it leaves India.
4. Add anything else you are buying from other Indian shops, then ask us to ship. Everything goes to you in one box.

Their India delivery and return terms

Kalyan Silks' shipping policy offers free delivery within India on orders above Rs. 3,999 and says orders usually ship within 48 business hours and arrive in about 7 business days after dispatch; customised items can take longer. Its return policy asks for return or exchange requests within 7 days of delivery, with the item unworn and its tags attached, and excludes gift cards and sale items. Because the saree reaches us first, that 7-day window is still open when you see the photographs. Read the store's own policy before you order.

Choosing silk online

• Look for the Silk Mark on pure silk. It confirms the silk; it says nothing about the zari.
• Read the zari line. Pure zari, half-fine and tested zari are different products at different prices.
• Ask about the blouse piece. If you want it stitched, have a tailor in India do it and send the finished piece to your India Rabbit address.

What it costs to ship

A silk saree folds flat and ships on its real weight once we take it out of the retail box. Several sarees from Kalyan Silks and other shops go in one box, which costs far less than separate parcels. The calculator gives the price to your country before you commit.
