Moved Abroad? Get Your Things Sent from India
The suitcase only held so much. Here is how the rest of your clothes, books and everyday things get from home to your new address, without your family queuing at a courier counter.
I've just moved abroad. How can I get the rest of my things sent from India? Have your family hand them in or courier them to your free India Rabbit address at our warehouse in Kerala, from anywhere in India; within Kerala we can collect. We open and photograph everything, hold it free for 30 days while the rest arrives, add any online orders you place, and send it all to you in one box with tracking.
How it works
- Sign up free and you get an India Rabbit address with your own suite code. Share it with your family.
- Your family sends your things to it. From anywhere in India they can post or courier them to our warehouse in Kerala. Within Kerala they can hand them in, or we can collect; a domestic courier leg is charged at cost, and we tell you the figure first.
- Add online orders. Anything you buy on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Myntra or any Indian shop can be delivered to the same address.
- We open, check and photograph each parcel when it arrives, so you can see exactly what came, and we hold everything free for 30 days.
- Ask us to ship. We repack it all into one box, free, and send it to you with tracking.
What people send after a move
- Clothes, including ethnic wear and sarees for weddings and festivals. Used clothes are fine.
- Books, Malayalam and other Indian-language books, textbooks and children's books. See Malayalam books.

What cannot be sent
Phones, laptops and anything with a built-in battery; perfume, nail polish and aerosols; anything that burns, such as agarbatti or candles; and gold, silver or diamond jewellery. Your new country may add its own rules, especially on food and medicines: check prohibited items.
Cost and timing
You pay only for the box that ships, priced on its finished weight, with Premium and Economy shown side by side where both run. Bulky soft things like quilts are where size matters most; see how volumetric weight is calculated. Import duty, if any, is charged by your new country when the box arrives.

My family wants to send clothes and books to me. What is the best way?
Have them post or courier the things to your India Rabbit address, or hand them in within Kerala. We photograph each parcel, combine it with anything else you order, and ship one box.
Can I send used clothes and personal things?
Yes. Used and second-hand items can be shipped. Your country's own rules apply, so check the prohibited items page for food and medicines.
Can you collect from my parents' house?
Within Kerala, yes; the domestic leg is charged at cost and we tell you the figure first. From the rest of India, your family sends the parcel to our warehouse by any domestic courier.
How long can things wait before shipping?
Each parcel is stored free for 30 days from the day it arrives, so your family can send things over a few weeks and you ship once.
