A ShopPre Alternative from Kerala
If you are weighing up forwarders, here is the honest comparison.
Is India Rabbit cheaper than ShopPre? Freight is priced on weight, size and destination. Storage, consolidation, repacking and photographs are included for everyone here rather than attached to a membership.

The difference that matters most: membership
ShopPre runs a membership tier. Their own FAQ lists what it buys: "5% discount on the shipping cost, Free Consolidation, Free Photo, Extended Storage (30 days), Personal Shopper Fee waiver". Which tells you what the non-member position is — 20 days of storage, and consolidation charged at "INR 50 per package".
We do not have tiers. Thirty days of free storage, free consolidation and repacking, and a photograph of every parcel are what the service is, not what an upgrade unlocks. There is nothing to buy before you have shipped anything.
Storage
ShopPre publishes "20 days of free Storage (30 days for membership customers)", then INR 100 per day per package up to 90 days. Ours is 30 days free per parcel for everyone. That gap matters more than it sounds if you are assembling a wedding order or waiting on a tailor.
Photographs
Theirs is listed as a membership benefit. Ours is automatic: every parcel is photographed as it arrives and the photographs sit in your account, so you can see the colour of a saree or the size of a box before you pay to fly it. This is the single most useful thing a forwarder can do and it should not be behind a paywall.
Where we are different
We are in Kerala, and most of what we forward goes to Keralites abroad. That shows in what we know: which silk houses will courier a saree, which Malayalam publisher has the book, what Onam does to courier capacity in the first week of September. If you are buying from a boutique in Thrissur, that specialism is the whole point.
Questions
Does ShopPre charge for consolidation?
Their FAQ states consolidation charges of INR 50 per package for non-members, waived for members. Ours is free for everyone. Re-read on 10 October 2026 and unchanged — check their current terms.
How do I check whether a forwarder can be trusted?
Look for four things before you send them anything: published prices you can check before you sign up, photographs of each parcel when it arrives, a stated free storage period, and a clear list of what they will not ship. All four are on our own pages, and you can check any forwarder you are comparing against the same list.
Can I use both?
Yes, nothing stops you. Some people keep an address with more than one forwarder and send each shipment wherever it works out better.
I already have an account somewhere else. Is switching a hassle?
No, because there is nothing to unwind. A forwarding address is just a delivery address you type at checkout. Sign up here, use the Indian address and suite code we give you on your next order, and leave the other account sitting where it is. Nothing has to be cancelled, moved or closed, and parcels already sitting with someone else are unaffected.
Do I have to pay anything before I ship?
No. The address, the suite code, storage, consolidation, repacking and the photographs cost nothing. You pay once, when you ask us to fly a box, and the price is for that shipment. There is no membership, no monthly fee and nothing to buy up front.
How long will you hold my parcels while I keep shopping?
30 days free per parcel, counted from the day each one arrives, so a box that lands today and one that lands in three weeks can still go out together. That is long enough to wait on a tailor, a festival restock or a book that has to be ordered in.
Does it make a difference where I am shipping to?
It does, and it is worth asking any forwarder. We are in Kerala, so the Gulf is our shortest and busiest lane \u2014 flights between Kerala and Dubai run several times a day and a consolidated box rarely waits for space. Europe, the UK, North America and Australia all run on published transit times you can see on each destination page before you commit.
