Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala from Abroad

What Arya Vaidya Sala makes

Arya Vaidya Sala dates its founding to 1902, when P.S. Varier founded it, and runs a hospital at Kottakkal. Its products page lists the classical forms: arishta and asava (fermented preparations), bhasma, churna (powders), ghrita (ghee-based), gulika (pills), kashaya (decoctions), leha (electuaries), rasakriya and kuzhampu (oil-based), and its online shop sells tailams and oils as well.

Get the prescription first

Arya Vaidya Sala's own FAQ says the first step is a consultation with one of its doctors. It says email consultation is free and video consultation carries a small facilitation charge. A prescription matters at customs as much as for your health: almost every country that lets Ayurvedic medicine in for personal use wants it in its original packaging, in a personal quantity, with a copy of the prescription.

Ordering, step by step

1. Sign up for a free India Rabbit address: our warehouse in Kerala, with your suite code.
2. Order from shop.aryavaidyasala.com with that address for delivery. Keep a copy of the prescription and send it to us.
3. We photograph the parcel on arrival and pack bottles to travel, sealed against leaks.
4. It ships to you with the prescription copy and the bill.

What your country allows

Rules differ a great deal. Some countries are relaxed about personal quantities of herbal preparations; others restrict particular ingredients, especially bhasmas, which can contain metals, and fermented preparations with natural alcohol. Read your destination's page under prohibited items and our guide to buying medicines from India before you order.
