Order from Flipkart and get it delivered in Canada
If Flipkart will not deliver to your Canada address, use an Indian address instead. India Rabbit gives you a free Indian address at its warehouse in Kerala. You order on Flipkart like a customer in India, we receive and photograph each parcel, hold it free for 30 days and ship everything to you in one box.
| Can I order Flipkart to Canada? | Yes, through a free Indian address. Order on Flipkart's Indian site to your India Rabbit address at our warehouse in Kerala, as a customer in India, and we forward it. If Flipkart delivers to your address itself, compare its price first. |
|---|---|
| How? | Sign up free, use your Indian address and suite code at checkout, and ask us to ship when your parcels have arrived. Each parcel is photographed on arrival and held free for 30 days. |
| What does it cost? | From India to Canada, a 1 kg parcel starts at ₹2,650 (about CAD 39), and the rate per kilo falls as the box fills: about ₹1,390 (about CAD 20) per kg for a 5 kg box and ₹1,100 (about CAD 16.2) per kg for 20 kg, on Economy, with GST and payment charges included. We charge in rupees; the CAD figures are approximate, at this week's exchange rate. |
| How long? | Typically 4 to 14 business days after the box leaves Kerala, plus customs clearance. |
| What cannot be sent? | Perfume and sprays, nail polish, aerosols, anything with a battery, phones and laptops, real gold, silver and diamond jewellery, incense and camphor. See the list |
Does Flipkart ship to Canada?
Check at your own checkout, and if Flipkart will not deliver to your Canadian address, order to your India Rabbit address instead. Flipkart delivers inside India as usual, and we ship your order to Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg or anywhere in Canada, typically 4 to 14 business days after the box leaves India.
How to order from Flipkart in Canada, step by step
- Sign up free and copy your India Rabbit address with your suite code.
- Add it as a delivery address in your Flipkart account and choose it at checkout.
- We photograph each parcel when it arrives, so you can check it before anything flies.
- When everything has arrived, ask us to ship: one box to your door in Canada.
What we cannot ship from Flipkart
Flipkart is best known for phones and electronics, so this matters: we cannot ship mobile phones, laptops, loose batteries or anything powered by a battery, perfume, aerosols or nail polish, whatever the destination. Clothes, books, kitchenware, home goods, toys without batteries, sealed packaged food and most beauty products are fine.
Indian appliances do not work in Canada
India runs on 230V and Canada on 120V. A Flipkart mixer grinder, kettle, iron or induction hob will not work on a Canadian outlet, and a plug adapter does not change that. Buy the Canadian version of anything with a motor or a heating element, and use Flipkart for what Canada does not sell: clothes, books, puja items, kitchenware and home goods.
Duty and GST in Canada
Duty and GST usually apply to parcels valued above CAD 20, and gifts up to CAD 60 may be exempt. Because the threshold is low, one consolidated box is better value than several small parcels, each of which would be assessed and charged on its own.
Paying on Flipkart from abroad
Whether a foreign card works at Flipkart checkout depends on the card and the payment option. If yours is declined, read how to pay on Indian shopping sites from abroad or message us on WhatsApp before you order.
Costs and transit to Canada
Typical transit is 4 to 14 business days from the day your consolidated box leaves our Kerala warehouse, plus clearance at your end. Parcels are held free for 30 days each while you finish ordering.
