What Amazon.co.uk does not have
Indian-language books are the clearest gap — Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Bengali titles, prayer books, Bibles and children's readers. Indian-syllabus school and competitive-exam material is another. Beyond books, it is the specific rather than the general: British Indian grocery is good, but a particular brand or a particular variant is often only on the Indian site.
Electricals work here, unlike America
Britain runs 230V on three-pin sockets and India runs 230V, so an Amazon.in appliance works in the UK on a plug adapter with no transformer. This is worth knowing because the advice people repeat about Indian electronics not working abroad comes from the US market, where it is true, and does not apply to Britain.
