Does Nalli ship to the USA?

Check at your own checkout. On 31 October 2026 the banner on Nalli's website offered free international shipping above ₹39,999, with "Duties & T&Cs apply". Below that figure, or if checkout will not complete to your US address, order to your India Rabbit address and we forward the saree, combined with anything else you have bought in India.

Nalli in America

Nalli's own website lists stores in the USA in New Jersey, California, Frisco, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles (read 31 October 2026). If one is within reach, it is the best place to see a Kanchipuram silk in daylight, feel the weight and look closely at the zari. The Indian website is priced in rupees, so once you know what you like, compare the same weave and zari on the Indian site before you buy.

What US duty means for a silk saree

There is no duty-free allowance for parcels from India: the USD 800 exemption was suspended on 29 August 2025, and since 24 July 2026 goods made in India also carry an extra 10% on top of the normal rate for each item. Duty is worked out on the value, and a Kanchipuram silk is one of the higher-value things people forward: on 31 October 2026 Nalli's Mallika Blue Kanjeevaram saree was ₹19,999, and pure zari pieces cost more. We declare each saree at the price you paid. The calculator shows, service by service, whether duty for the USA is already in the price; where it is not, the courier collects it before delivery. The only small US exemption left is a genuine gift from one person to another worth USD 100 or less; an online order does not count, even if the saree is a present.

One box for a family function

A wedding, a housewarming or Navaratri rarely needs one saree. Nalli also sells dhotis, men's kurtas and pattu pavadai for girls, and every piece you order to your Indian address, from Nalli or any other shop, can go in the same box. Because each US shipment is cleared and charged separately, one box is cheaper than three parcels on both the freight and the clearance.

Check the saree before it flies

Nalli's return window is for orders delivered in India. We photograph the saree when it reaches us, so you can check the colour, the border and the zari line while a domestic return is still possible. Once the box has left India it cannot go back to the store.

Timing

Allow for delivery inside India, a few days for your other parcels, then typically 4 to 12 business days from Kerala to the USA plus customs.
