Does FabIndia ship to the USA?

Check at your own checkout. Delivery abroad depends on the item and changes without notice. If FabIndia will not deliver to your US address, order to your India Rabbit address and we forward it, together with anything else you have bought in India.

FabIndia in America

In October 2021 Community Impact, a Texas local paper, described FabIndia's store in Plano as "the only Fabindia location in the U.S." Check whether that is still the case before you drive there. Either way, one shop cannot carry the whole Indian range.

The lamps are built for India

FabIndia's own app listing (read 31 October 2026) names lamps, lamp shades, hanging lights and string lights in its Home range, alongside furniture. India runs on 230V and the USA on 120V, so a wired FabIndia lamp will not run safely on a US outlet with a plug adapter alone; it needs rewiring by an electrician or a step-up transformer. Battery-powered string lights cannot be forwarded at all. A shade, cushion cover, bedspread or table linen has none of these problems.

Food and beauty: what clears and what does not

The same listing names organic foods, teas and staples, and beauty products including fragrances. For the USA:

• Sealed, labelled teas, spices and staples are generally accepted in personal quantities, and a visible ingredients list helps.
• Anything with a health or medicinal claim on the packet is assessed by the FDA differently from ordinary food, and supplements should be declared because some ingredients are restricted.
• Ghee and milk-based products are decided case by case; meat is never accepted.
• Fragrances and body sprays we cannot forward to any country. Face washes, creams, oils and soaps are fine.

US duty on cotton and khadi

There is no duty-free allowance for parcels from India: the USD 800 exemption was suspended on 29 August 2025, and since 24 July 2026 goods made in India also carry an extra 10% on top of the normal rate for each item. Clothing, food and cosmetics each have their own US rate. The calculator shows, service by service, whether duty for the USA is already in the price; where it is not, the courier collects it before delivery. Cotton and khadi are light and pack flat, so several kurtas from different orders usually travel as one small box, which keeps both the freight and the number of clearances down.
